How to Paint the Blood Bowl Troll

How to Paint the Blood Bowl Troll – A Broken Paintbrush Tutorial

I started painting the Blood Bowl Troll as a way to show different painting techniques but found it was going to work better as a general tutorial instead. Check out the tutorial below for tips on how to paint the Troll as well as some general tips on painting with washes and blending. Orc and Goblin teams can take the Troll for some extra muscle and even toss a (somewhat) willing volunteer across the field. As I build up each of my Blood Bowl teams, I want to add some of the special team players to add some fun to the games. I had fun painting him to a higher standard than the Orc players and testing a few techniques. Building and Prep This model was probably the craziest I have done regarding odd pieces for a single character model. This does create a pose that is detailed and dynamic but provides only a single pose. For those who like to leave pieces separate, the only one part that made sense was the shoulder pad. …

Ork Blood Bowl Team WIP

Blood Bowl Ork Team WIP for Squaduary Week 1

Already making progress on my Squaduary pledge and have an update on my Blood Bowl Ork Team WIP. As mentioned in my last WIP update, I wanted to paint them with purple armor and decided that orange would be a good spot color. At this point, I have half the team base coated and washed with brown. Dark Green Khaki Silver Parasite Brown Black Hexed Lichen Hot Orange Next steps Now that the first six are base coated I can start highlighting each color. I have the other six to do as well but need to wait for the …

Sir Lucien Bretonnian Knight of the Realm

A few years ago I picked up a Bretonnian Knight of the Realm box as a way to mix up my painting and try different colors, free hand, and styles. I had painted up the first knight up to his final colors but never got around to finishing him. I even tried getting on board with the Knights of Bal Timorea that Santa Cruz Warhammer was putting together, but alas, he has been collecting dust on my desk for almost three years! So after finishing off a few of my Mentor Legion units I finally broke through and finished him off. So I present Sir Lucien of the Realm. The yellow sword for his arms came from the transfer sheet but I painted back over it and the border to remove the “decal look.” I also spent a good deal of time on the base and mud splatter. I wanted that mud tracked earth look as a unit was breaking through the ground and a gallop. So along each edge of the base the grass …
